Guiding Early Musicians (GEM) Music Academy is a Boston-based company with a mission to empower young students to experience music & movement as a source of personal fulfillment and as a vehicle for the expression of creativity. Our programs are designed for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school-aged children along with their parents or caregivers. Our original curriculum and interactive lesson plans are sure to help guide children and families alike to a love for musicianship.
Our Founder
Diamond L. Tigney
With steadfast determination, Diamond L. Tigney, a Detroit native, has used music as a bridge to success. At the top of her class, Diamond spent all of her formative years at the Marvin L. Winans Academy of Performing Arts. There, she studied theatre, dance, violin, piano, and vocal music. Diamond’s passion for the arts enabled her to perform internationally, open for President Barack Obama, and even record with six-time Grammy award winning gospel singer, Marvin L. Winans. After graduating from Berklee with a degree in Professional Music, Diamond continues to serve the greater Boston area by working as a Boston Public School educator as well as founder and CEO of GEM Music Academy.
